Problems in determining tax exemptions for religious organizations

Two current examples of the problem of trying to determine whether an organization warrants the tax exemption granted to religious organizations.

Liberty University and political endorsements.

Christian crashpad for Congressmen.

You know just the other day I was thinking that if I was a conservitive, christian republican that the best way to solicit votes would be something just like that.

I think it would just be easier to declare yourself your own Nation to get out of paying taxes.

This is "state" law enforcement using biblical verses, church facilities, forbidding non-Christians to participate, not to mention the fact that they are all white old men in a very diverse community that are focusing their efforts against a very legal local Islamic religious center.

2 weeks ago an Islamic center outside of Knoxville was seriously vandalized by a "white power" Christian group.

Rachel Maddow Show lastnight had a great bit on this topic I suggest everyone watch.
